Santa Clara County
Defendants were charged with possession of methamphetamine (approximately 703.9 grams), possession of marijuana (approximately 1263.6 grams), possession of MDMA (ecstasy-approximately 65.2 grams), and possession of LSD. Additionally, they were charged with possessing a .38 caliber revolver and .380 caliber pistol in the commission of above offenses. Defendants were indicted by the grand jury. Attorney Ginny Walia filed a motion to suppress the evidence based on an illegal search of the defendant’s house without a search warrant. Defense motion to suppress the evidence including all drugs and guns was granted. All charges were dismissed. Defendant was charged with cruelty to child by inflicting injury. This case received significant media attention throughout the nation. Attorney Ginny Walia was able to negotiate a sentence that involved a parenting class. At the completion of the parenting class, all charges were dismissed.
Alameda County
Defendant was charged with statutory rape, domestic violence and a motion to revoke felony probation based on a prior statutory rape on the same complaining witness. Attorney Ginny Walia personally handled the matter. Plea negotiations resulted in a county jail sentence with probation where the initial offer was state prison.
Contra Costa County
Defendant was charged with a second degree robbery and a battery. Attorney Ginny Walia negotiated a plea with charges reduced to grand theft of person with a program where the defendant had to be on an anklet program for 90 days and 2 years of felony probation.
San Joaquin County Case
Defendant was charged with child abuse and criminal threats. After the preliminary hearing, the felony counts of child abuse and criminal threats were reduced to misdemeanors. Subsequently, the case was dismissed.
Santa Clara County
Defendant was charged with domestic violence. Attorney Ginny Walia negotiated a plea with charges reduced to a disturbance of peace. The sentence involved the completion of a 16-hour anger management program. The disturbance of peace charge was also dismissed after a successful completion of the anger management program

Defendant was charged with a hit and run. He did not stop after getting into a major accident. After a jury trial, the jury returned a verdict with 11 for not guilty and 1 for guilty. After the hung jury, the prosecution dismissed all charges

Defendant was charged with Felony Drunk Driving Charges that involved an accident and injury. After plea negotiations, the felony drunk driving charge was reduced to a standard first DUI as a misdemeanor.
Contra Costa County
Defendant was charged with two felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon and domestic violence. Additionally he was charged with 2 counts of felony child abuse and terrorist threats. After a lengthy trial, the defendant received a probation sentence with no state prison time.

After plea negotiations, the defendant received informal probation diversion pursuant to W & I 654.2. The entire matter was dismissed at the end of the period of informal probation diversion.
Alameda County DMV
The client’s license was suspended by the DMV due to the fact that he was prescribed methodone. After a hearing, the DMV reinstated the license to the client after it was shown that his driving abilities were not affected.
